Top 10 of 2008: Weddings!

Regardless of how much I love engagement and bridal sessions, the wedding day is what it’s all about. I can’t believe I get to show up at one of these every weekend. It was hard to pick just 10 of these, but these were just a few of my favorites from the year.

(Images are in order of when they were taken.)

1. I LOVE the way bubble look at night. This wedding was way out in West Texas and totally worth the trip out there.

2. There was so much emotion at this wedding. Some guys just “endure” the wedding day to make her happy. Canon was fully present and took in every moment as Marcie came down the aisle.

3. Girls let me just warn you. There is something about your wedding day and that dress that makes people cross personal boundaries. This dress was going to get busseled. Regardless of the cost.

4. I don’t care what they tell you. Most guys LOVE getting to pose like a boy band and having their picture taken in a wide open space.

5. These guys gave me 30 MINUTES of just them after the wedding. SERIOUSLY! We had so much fun and got some amazing shots, but eventually I noticed Jarred being less into the photo session and more and more into Alisia.

6. Amy and Josh had so many amazing moments on their wedding day. By far my favorite was during the ceremony when they washed each others feet.

7. Sun glasses, a wedding dress, a bandana, and a Harley Davidson. Seriously. Was there ever any doubt?

8. Maribel & Robert also gave me a while after the ceremony for some portraits of the two of them. This ended up being my favorite from the day.

9. I LOVE when couples choose to see each other before the ceremony. (A rapidly growing trend that all the cool kids are doing.) I love that it gives us time to get the photos done before hand so that guests are not waiting for us to get to the reception. I love that it helps settle everyones nerves a bit. But my absolute favorite thing about this is how great it is for the bride and groom. Your wedding day can very quickly become a blur, and getting to spend 10 minutes ALONE with each other is an amazing thing that I have yet to hear a couple regret. That’s why I love this shot so much. Because this very moment is one that these two will remember when they think back to their wedding day.

10. As I mentioned in their Sneak Peek post, these two had an AMAZING wedding.  I posted a photo of Brent & Lauren in a similar pose, but this is the shot that actually got it all rolling.  Lauren didn’t want a “normal” shot with the groomsmen and it was a bit windy and she said something about Marilyn Monroe.  One thing led to another and before I knew it, we had 1 guy holding some flowers, another looking casual and the grooms brothers were either jumping in the air, hanging on to the dress, or crawling under it.  Either way, I knew right away this was going to make the top 10.

Vote away!

Really awesome photos and I love that the brides and grooms were willing to go "outside the box" and have fun!
