From what I can tell, there are basically 2 types of people who are music majors, the first is the stereotypical “band nerd” (Yes Wes, I’m looking your way.) The second are the people who are so stinking cool you wish everyone else was like them. Erin & Chris are prime examples of type 2.

These two rocked my socks off pretty much all session long. Every time I kept thinking the session could not be going better, they would take it to another level and up the ante.  They are my first wedding of 2010 so the rest of my 2010 couples better bring the funk if they wanna keep up with these two.

Let me be very clear, I pretty much think I have cornered the market on great couples, but to earn a Same Day Edit you pretty much have to ooze with coolness. So what is it that pushed them over the top? Was it the fact that during our session they got like 3 or 4 txt messages asking when their engagement session would be online? Was it the fact that they both have iPhones? Was it the fact that Erin has eyes that are so great they might get their own session? Yes, yes, and yes.

Here are some of my favorites, hit the link a the end for the full session.

Did I mention they are also ninjas?

It’s like they are prisoners of each others love!

Anyway, after their session, I hung out with some friends in Tyler till around 10PM, then had to drive home to Palestine and it’s around 2AM the next day, so technically it’s not the “Same Day”  but it is within 24 hours so that’s close enough.:)

Here is your full session!

Thanks so much guys for a great session!

Thanks Alex for such an AWESOME engagement photo session! Erin and Chris enjoyed working with you so very much. As a Mom, I’ve always been partial to Erin’s eyes. Thanks for validating my opinion with that of a talented and very professional photographer. ;-) P.S. I know,,, I’m partial.

Hey Alex!

First off: I’m flattered. Your post was REALLY sweet and we totally had a blast working with you. You were really fun to work with and you set a great relaxed atmosphere that helped us feel like we could just be the goofs that we really are. Secondly: Wow!!! It is such an honor to be a "Same Day" edit. I totally feel like I just won an award or something, lol. I was so surprised when I got your e-mail and when I saw the pictures-I just went crazy. Good crazy that is. I think I’ve showed or told everyone about my awesome new engagement pictures that I’ve seen or talked to today. The pictures are just perfect. It’s hard to find words to express my appreciation for the amazing photos that you took and the fact that the photos are already viewable. Thanks so much for all you’ve done. You have a wonderful talent and I know that Chris and I will treasure these photos for years to come.

THANKS!

Erin

First of all, Wow! That’s what I’ve said to myself many times since seeing these pictures. I’m amazed at what you’ve done! We knew going in to this that we were in for something great because we spent a lot of time looking through all of the other pictures on your site but you completely went above and beyond any expectation that we had. Amazing! Second, I’m absolutely amazed that you were able to get all of these up with the exceptional quality that they are in such an extremely short time! When Erin called me earlier today and said she had an email from you with a few of the pictures I thought you had finished 2 or 3 and were giving us a taste of what’s to come. Then I came here to your site and saw the entire thing and was completely blown away! Thank you so much for the amazing shoot, the awesome pictures, and the amazingly quick turnaround! I’m even more excited now (if that’s possible) for the rest of our great adventure together!

Holy cow guys, these are AWESOME. (I didn’t know Chris was a ninja.)

The shots in Braithwaite have to be some of my favorite, with the last one where the two of you jumping off looking REALLy fun, but…I play on that piano.

Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeease, get a room. :P

Old, but still cool Cousin (Jay) - May 16, 2009 - 4:31 pm

Amazing pictures! Alex did an incredible job. Bev and I are truly happy for you guys, and know how excited you are to begin your life together. I personally like #8, and think #4 is a really cool/funny shot. Congrats on some great engagement photos.

Justin - May 16, 2009 - 4:58 pm

Very nice, props to Alex for some great photo’s! Do you guys really jump around that much?

I am concerned about the twitter post about poor Alex being quite nervous about the iPhone-Facebook junky… Erin keep your eyes on the road ; )

Alex - May 16, 2009 - 5:20 pm

Chris was the one who was facebooking while driving. Erin is the one who made him stop.

Wesley - May 16, 2009 - 5:31 pm

The awesome-ness of these pictures definitely overrides the awkwardness of seeing my sister and Chris kiss.
I’m so proud. :)

Chaundra - May 16, 2009 - 8:48 pm

I agree with everyone. These are great pictures. I too like the ones in Braithwaite. I guess some of us are kind of partial to that place. : ) I noticed that Alex lives in Palestine, my hometown. Hello, Alex, you did a wonderful job.

Justin - May 16, 2009 - 9:32 pm

Oh I had a sneaky suspicion it was Chris (since he’s the one who i-facebooks), I just couldn’t pass up the chance to harass Erin since we all knew who it really was LOL!

Bev - May 17, 2009 - 1:20 pm

Wow, these were amazing! Erin – the "eyes" thing it totally true. The Ninja picture showed me a side of you guys I had only hoped existed. All your pictures are beautiful! I am so happy for you both!

Stephanie - May 18, 2009 - 5:41 pm

Hey Woman! OMG! It looks like you two had sooooo much fun taking these zany pics! I love ‘em! The one of you and Chris as like Ninja Superheroes is A-MAZING! And I REALLY like the one in the recital hall where’s he’s like going for your ear or something :P love you guys!!!!

Steph Free - May 19, 2009 - 11:36 pm

Ok so these are just adorable! I think my favorite was you guys hugging behind the bars. That sounds like you are in jail. Anyways, I think they are just great and I am so happy for you two! yay! ps Erin I am loving the hair!

Angela - May 24, 2009 - 3:27 am

Hey hey! Your pictures are awesome! The fountain pics are my favorites. :) Y’all are a beautiful couple! God bless!

Jamie - May 28, 2009 - 9:24 pm

Can I just say that these were the most amazing, not just of engagement but of any, pictures I’ve ever seen? I partially teared up looking at the favorites and completely lost it looking at the full session of the two of you….and I’m pretty sure I teared up looking at other people’s photos that I don’t even know. Alex- You have the most amazing talent for capturing these couples’ connections to each other in a single still frame that makes me feel like I can just see their emotions in live action. I know this is totally going to sound so mushy chicky; but just in these few photos, I saw the geeky Erin that I love so much and saw how her and Chris are so obviously perfect for each other. I think your photography is absolutely incredible. It is so moving. I loved the photo of Chris and Erin through the piano. I loved the photo of them sitting on the stairs and Erin’s looking up at Chris (uhhh wow. Erin, don’t mean to sound all homosexual but your eyes do look amazing especially next to the red hair ;D) I loved both photos of them in the theatre where they’re far away, but the way it’s framed, it says so much. But I think my favorite is the last one on the favorites, next to last on the full session. It is a classic, pure picture that I can only say is just perfect.

Well, sorry I just wrote a whole novel, but I could not be happier for the both of you. You guys look amazing. Chris- I had no idea you could jump that high and I am amazed. Being asian therefore being a ninja master, I couldn’t be happier that Erin was marrying someone that was in touch with his "asian persuasion" side. I’m so proud. Aaaand Alex- how far in advance do you have to book? We’re a little whiles away from getting married, but Steven and I both think your photography is amazing. I’m pretty sure we would move around our wedding date if we picked one that you couldn’t do. I’m kidding….but no seriously we would.
