For a while now, I have been tinkering with the idea of how to document more guests at your wedding. Table shots are super boring and guests usually don’t enjoy them. Receiving lines are so last decade. That leaves…. stalking the bride and groom for 2 hours during the reception photographing every person they hug.![]()
The Problem: You want photos of your guests.
The Solution: A location at your wedding where guests would want to come and be photographed.
(This is where it gets exciting.)
Some folks would suggest a “photo booth.” Basically a small box where 2-5 people cram in and hide behind a curtain while 15 people stand in line and wait. This is not ideal. I wanted something that would not only engage the people being photographed, but the people WAITING to be photographed. Thus, The Mug Machine was born. The Mug Machine is a little space at your reception for your guests to cut loose, relax, and be photographed. It’s their chance to put a bit of their personality into your day. And, because it’s not done “behind a curtain”, everyone else enjoys the fun as well.
Anyway, you can click here to find out more about The Mug Machine. I’m offering $250.00 off the regular price for all you brides who want to add this to your package before the end of January. (Your wedding does not have to take place in January for you to receive the discount. You just have to add it to your package before the end of January.)
So, without further ado, I present the maiden voyage of The Mug Machine.

Hey, Alex! Just found your site via SCL. Your post totally cracked me up… partly because of the humor, and partly because that’s what I do, too. I’m a portrait and wedding photographer in the Washington, DC area. Just stopping by to say hello. Love the photo booth, btw.

Hey Alex- I shot a wedding that you were doing videography for a few years ago- you may or may not remember…… any way- Donna Cummings just told me to look at this Mug Machine you are doing- how fun! Fabulous idea…. I love it. Just wanted to tell you that!
