So I’m trying to expand my photographingness horizons by forcing myself to snap at least one photo a day. I’m also trying to NOT have it contain people. Below is my effort for January. I’m a little hit & miss on the people rule, but hey, my kids are cute. Anyway, if you wanna play along I’d love to see/hear your results. This past Sunday I shot my first wedding at Bella Sera Ranch and I loved it. I can’t wait to get back there. (Yes, I’m looking at you Chesley & Andy). Anyway, all you brides out there in the Palestine/East Texas area really should go out and take a look. They have an amazing venue. Here is a shot of their historic style Chapel.

Christa brought plenty of blingdom to the day.

They read their vows off their phones & after the minister pronounced them man and wife they updated their Facebook status to married.

Chesley & Andy | Cooking Up Love

Remember that time Chesley & Andy invited me to photograph them cooking for an engagement session? I don’t think it’s possible for me to love these two people more.

I MAY have eaten an extra slice of this fruit pizza while they were changing clothes for the second part of out session.

Seriously, you two were so so much fun to hang out with. I can’t wait for your marriage to begin!!!!!

Lauren & Daniel | Dallas Engagement Photography

Lauren & Daniel were so chill during their session. They were up for anything and totally laid back. It even drizzled a bit during their session but since she commutes to Seattle on a weekly basis that didn’t even phase them one bit.

Nothing can stop the awesome train that is Lauren & Daniel.

I am giddy about their June wedding. (Hey Barbara of La Tee Da Flowers, you better bring your A-game to this one!)

Lauren & Brent | Anniversary Shoot

I shot Lauren & Brent’s wedding a little over 3 years ago. They are one of my favorite past couples but it’s not because of their great style or awesome taste. (Although this things don’t hurt.) The reason I love them so much is because they were and are still totally into each other. Every time I’m around them I leave ready to go home and love my wife better. They are killing it at being married.

Back in August Lauren E-mailed to say they wanted an themed anniversary session every 3 years and that this one would be a “vintage style shoot with a 50′s-60′s style dress and hair, bowtie and suspenders for brent, old fashioned bicycle, etc etc..”

This was my response: “you + brent + galveston + vintage = i’m in.”

6 months later here are the results.

If you think this shoot is great wait till you see what we come up with in 2015.

Rachael & Daniel | Wedding Photography Lake Tyler Petroleum Club

30 minutes after hanging out with Rachael & Daniel they became some of my favorite people. It was an honor to capture the launch of their marriage and I loved seeing them fall more in love with each other as the day went on. (Side note: To all you Tyler brides looking for a place to get married, you should visit Lake Tyler Petroleum Club.)

Because she is awesome, Rachael had a custom record made for Daniel with all of their wedding music on it.

Because he is awesome, Daniel had Adalante Catering make him a record cookie cake.

The great thing about pulling the ring out of a Cracker Jack box is having a snack for the rest of the wedding.

It was my first time working with Lone Star Light & Sound and I loved them. They did everything a great DJ should do. Call them and book them.

McKellar Maternity

I don’t shoot maternity sessions. I think I have shot 5 in my whole life and 4 of those were for my wife. But when my friends Vanessa & Brent McKellar became pregnant I knew I would be shooting a session. We decided to go the cheesy route and I totally LOVE what we got. I’ll explain a few along the way but for the most part these images should stand on their own.

Sometimes couples ask me “Why don’t we get every single image you shot at our session?”
Answer: Because sometimes you both are talking and you look like this.

Nothing says professional maternity photography quite like dressing a man up in a matching shirt and making him hold his wife uncomfortably.

Their hands make a heart. Because they love the baby so much.

It’s like a Where’s Waldo game.

More awkward kissing and hugging.

For realz though these two are some of my favorite people ever. They are having a baby next week and I can’t wait to see them be parents. Go team McKellar!
