Ashley & Jay are my new favorite engaged people. From the moment we first met I felt like I “got” them. They are so so comfortable with each other and that comfort just jumped right though into our session. It’s funny because Ashley kept saying she was super nervous, but I could never tell. Jay does such a great job of making her feel secure that she just seems at home anytime he’s nearby. These two love to read and Ashley grew up in a state park so we basically planned a session around books and trees.

Happy December Everyone!!! We are starting a new “Rewind” tradition. Each month I’m going to do a little quick interview with a couple celebrating their 1 year anniversary. This will give you up and coming married people a little peak into what your world might look like in a few months. I knew Kristi & Kiley would be the perfect couple to get the ball rolling.

What have you liked most about your first year being married?

Jessica & Matt blew my brains away with how great they were on their session. These two were up for anything I suggested and took the East Texas Fair by storm.
We started with a few “normal” pictures.

I’m crazy about this one.

Then we started having fun.

2010 September Rewind

Last September was an insanely fun month. I had 2 weddings, 1 engagement session and my first Rock the Frock day after session. OH, and we also went to DisneyWorld. A HUGE happy 1 year to Jamie & Steven along with Jessica & Rob. You guys were some of my favorites couples form last year.

I figure you wanna see a few photos but then the main reason you are hear is to watch our home movie from the trip.

If Thomas looks slightly familiar it’s because I photographed his twin brother earlier this year. I LOVE LOVE LOVE shooting multiple family members and getting to see the same people at weddings. I totally start to feel like family and it makes my job 1 million times easier when I actually know who people are heading into the wedding day. Thomas and Jonathan run a trucking company and like any business owners they are on the phone a bit. This was Darcee’s expression when his phone rang 30 seconds into our shoot.

These two are perfect in front of the camera. Super casual and into each other.

I told them to name each other’s favorite food on the count of three. Thomas said “Everything”.

These two were so much fun, I can not wait for the wedding a few months from now. Amy suggested doing the session at her parent’s lake house and it fit them perfectly. I love these images. I think my favorite part of Amy & Casey’s session was when Casey complained that the high cost of wedding photography was keeping him form getting a gooseneck trailer.

Yeah, we went there.

This is Casey’s new toy. (The one that NEEDS a gooseneck trailer.)

I love doing these rewind posts. It’s a little reminded for me that my couples still exists before and after my shoots. I love the 18 month window that I get to look into my couples lives. I usually meet them at the height of their giddy-ness and love and get to walk along with them till their wedding day and the months right after. Hip hip hooray to all of my March 2010 couples. I hope married life is as fun for you as it is for me. (Really really fun.)

Lindsey & Jonathan live out in California but are getting married here in Texas. They were in town for the holidays so we snuck in an engagement session. I think Lindsey’s nose almost froze off, but hey, what did she expect. It’s Texas in the winter.

Lindsey is a P.E.T.A. advocate and she was so excited when she saw a truck with a P.E.T.A. bumper sticker in Texas of all places. Then they pulled up closer and saw that it said People Eating Tasty Animals. Oops.
