I’m not a bad parent because I’ve spent the past 30 minutes editing photos while my son watches a HSM3 music video over and over am I?

I arrive a bit early to this wedding and it’s a good thing I did. There was a growing chance of rain and Jayme kept saying over and over all she cared about was the photos. Her and Jake were NOT planning on seeing each other before the ceremony, but with the rain looming and the photography being so important to her she decided to bite the bullet and see Jake before the ceremony.

Allow me a quick rant if you will. My general rule is that if a bride is dead set on not seeing each other before hand then I don’t talk about it, but if she is open to the idea even the slightest bit, then I do everythign I can to encourage/force it. ;) The day is just so much smoother and stress free and every single couple that has done it absolutely loves it. (It also gives us plenty of time for great photos, and you more time to hang with friends and family.)

Back to the wedding at hand. Jayme had been pretty set on not seeing him before hand, so the fact that she would change plans at the last minute was a HUGE deal and she took it and the rain in total stride. She did amazing and I’m so glad we were able to get the shots we did.

They were married at Jake’s house and seriously, with a wedding walk like this one can you blame them?  

They also were in the center of all their friends and family. Another super nice touch.  

She took me up on one of my tips about having dinner alone together.  

JD the DJ was there and he had records! Old School. I loved it!

From what I can tell, there are basically 2 types of people who are music majors, the first is the stereotypical “band nerd” (Yes Wes, I’m looking your way.) The second are the people who are so stinking cool you wish everyone else was like them. Erin & Chris are prime examples of type 2.

These two rocked my socks off pretty much all session long. Every time I kept thinking the session could not be going better, they would take it to another level and up the ante.  They are my first wedding of 2010 so the rest of my 2010 couples better bring the funk if they wanna keep up with these two.

Let me be very clear, I pretty much think I have cornered the market on great couples, but to earn a Same Day Edit you pretty much have to ooze with coolness. So what is it that pushed them over the top? Was it the fact that during our session they got like 3 or 4 txt messages asking when their engagement session would be online? Was it the fact that they both have iPhones? Was it the fact that Erin has eyes that are so great they might get their own session? Yes, yes, and yes.

Did I mention they are also ninjas?

It’s like they are prisoners of each others love!

We did Lindsey’s bridal session at Castle on the Lake in Jacksonville. She is super fun, laid back, and I am pretty estocked about her July 4th wedding! (Fireworks)  

She snuck her fiancee’s guitar away for the session.  

Of course we had to work the fish face in.  

So here are my 3 general rules about shooting maternity sessions.

1. They are free

2. I don’t do any shots where you are basically naked.

3. I only shoot them if I get you pregnant.

A few days ago I broke rule 3 and did a session for my super great friends Patrick and Jeni. I have known them for close to 20 years and so when Patrick asked me about doing a session I could not refuse. We had suce a great time and Jeni was totally up for anything.

Patrick and Jeni take a swing class twice a week and have kept going to the class this whole pregnancy.  

We did some at a bowling ally because Patrick was one strike short of bowling a perfect game on their first date.  

I can’t wait to see these guys be parents because I know they will do an amazing job! Congrats guys.
