Wedding Photography Longview TX | Laura & Chad

Laura and Chad had a great wedding at The Belgium House in Longview. I love shooting there and will be posting a little interview I did with them later this week. Any of you brides looking for a wedding venue in that area really should give them a call.

I was really hoping this is how she would keep her hair for the wedding, but alas, the Blonde Salon in Kilgore had better plans. (903.948.7049)

I love me some wedding cupcake! The ladies over at Edible Art did an amazing job with both Laura and Chad’s cakes. The looked amazing and tasted even better.

First person to guess where this ring shot was taken wins the joy of being right. :)

What could possible have Chad so excited and giddy with joy?…

Oh yeah, the sight of his bride coming towards him.

Two quick images from Laura and Chad’s great wedding at The Belgium House in Longview.

How amazing is this cake from Edible Art? Seriously? A drum that you can eat? Awesome! If you are looking for a cake for a wedding or any other occasion you have to look into Edible Art. I interviewed them a few months back on the site, click here to read and find out more about them.

Here is one from their First Look.

Laura and Chad were pretty much smiling all day long. I had a great time and can’t wait to go through all their images.

Congrats you two.

Wedding Photography Album Goodness
Wedding Photography Album Goodness

Just got a in a new album and thought I’d try and share it with you. You may recognize Kim and Josh from thier wedding at the Villa di Felicita back in June. They were a great couple to work with and I thought I’d give Kim one final blaze of bridal blogging glory and feature her album on the site!

The pages are super thick and amazingly sturdy!

They also all lay flat so there is no big ugly crease keeping you from seeing your images!

Even though I’m posting some photos of the album, these really have to be held to be appreciated. The leather is soft and fluffy, sometimes my kids take naps on them before I ship them out to brides.

Kim and Josh are HUGE HUGE HUGE Aggies so I thought I would also take some extra special photos for them. :)

This may be the closest this album ever comes to a National Championship.

Here is the full album if any of you want to take a look at it.

In all seriousness, you brides out there should really consider these albums when booking your packages. It’s so neat to have something tangible that you can hold, put on a coffee table or pass on to your kids later on down the road. (If you have already booked and want to add an album to your package, shoot me an E-mail and I’ll get you a little deal worked up.)

Unity Sand | Wedding Photography Tips
Unity Sand | Wedding Photography Tips

So, here is a little tip for all of you brides. If you are wanting to do a “unity” portion in your ceremony, you really should consider having unity sand. It’s so much fun! You can pick something that matches your colors, it’s great to photograph, and best of all, you get to take it home after the wedding!

Rather than just some candle that get tossed, why not give yourself a little bit of wedding art to take home? It’s kinda a way of combining a bit of tradition, but giving it a more modern twist. It’s also a cool way to involve more people than just your parents and you don’t have to worry about the fire marshal shutting you down. :) Here are a few of my favorite Unity Sand photos I’ve done lately.

Erika & Phil
Erika & Phil

Erika & Phil had and amazing little wedding in Gore, OK this past week. I was honored to be there documenting the day and can’t even begin to explain how neat it was to see a wedding unfold without many of the “extra stuff” that we just assume come with weddings these days. It was neat to see a couple share a day with only their family. When I was asking Phil about their decision to have such a small wedding the thing that stood out to me was this little quote: “I don’t’ want to be meeting new people on my wedding day.” It was such a small thing, but going to weddings week after week I sometimes get sad to see just how much time a bride and groom spend being shuffled from table to table saying hello to complete strangers while their close friends and family are left in the background of the day.

Anyway, all that to say.  There is no “wrong” way to have your wedding.  What works for some people may not work for you, and don’t be scared to try something different.  It’s your day and that last thing you want to do is look back on it and wish you had done the thing you always dreamed of doing.

It looked to me like an eyelash torture device, but I’m guessing this is something most girls do?

The super talented tandem of Vanessa & Brent McKellar were also there filming and making their movie magic. (I can’t wait for the wedding trailer)

Erika didn’t have any toothpaste so I ran to my van and shared mine. It was the last little bit of paste, but I’m sure Phil was thankful for it.

There’s always that point of the day where it “hits” brides that they are getting married. This was Erika’s moment.

Phil had a great reaction to seeing his bride come down the aisle.

One of the cool things they did during their ceremony was plant a tree. (Try doing that inside a church.)

Here is a quick little overload on details.

I blogged this last image for the sneak peak, but love it too much to not include it in their full post.

Erika & Phil, thank you for making me feel like family and for trusting me with your day.
