All Over Again
All Over Again

So, this may come as a surprise to some of you, but way back in the day, (2008-ish) I used to be a wedding videographer. I still love wedding videos. When my sister-in-law’s husband told me he was surprising her by doing a fake vow renewal at the church they were married in 3 years ago, I was giddy. See, I filmed their 1st wedding back on January 13, 2007, so the chance to pull out a camera and shoot some video at a “ceremony” was too good to pass up. I was just planning on giving them the footage I shot, but then the video editing bug bit me and I whipped this together.

Three Quick words of warning.

1. Our oldest two kids were in the original wedding so they got to play a part again. (Just ignore their attire.)

2. I was manually focusing while holding a child for most of this footage so cut me some slack.

3. Colette is about 5 months pregnant in the renewal footage vs the -14 months pregnant she was on her wedding day. :)

It’s been awhile since I wrote about albums, so what better time than the present. :) Erin & Chris’ wedding was off the chi-zane, so I figured it would be a great one to share. (I’ll also post some images once the physical album comes in.)

Here is how the album process typically works. 2-3 weeks after your wedding, I’ll e-mail you a mock up of your album. (Like what you see below.) You’ll then go over it, and approve it, or swap a few images out. Then, once we have a final version, I send it to my album company and they start building your album. 4-6 weeks later you have your album in hand. :) That’s right… 2 months after your wedding, you’ll have an album. :) I’m sure you have talked to or heard from brides who close to a year from their wedding are still in the “album process.” My goal is to get you your album as quickly as possible. Anyway, here is Erin & Chris’ album pre-design. Enjoy.

OK, so even though we are halfway done with January, is it still ok for me to do a quick look back on 2009?

Great. Here we go.

Last year I shot 162,668 images. That’s insane. That’s 445 photos per day.
Now granted, some of those were of my family, but seriously, I don’t have THAT many kids. :)

A big shout out to all my 2009 brides.

You were amazing.

Thank you for trusting me with your day.

Thank you for giving me the freedom to document and capture your day through my lens.

Thank you for helping me feed those kids I mentioned. :)

Thank you for helping me push my work to where it is today.

In case you missed any of them, here they are:
Ruth & Daniel | Emily & Heath | Britni & Chance | Josey & Sam | Polly & Nelson | J’Vonne & Lee | Linsey & Cade | Sara & Yan | Amanda & Royce | Jayme & Jake | Stefanie & Jeremy | Stephanie & Michael | Mandy & Derek | Chelsea & Tyson | Kim & Josh | Megan & Jacob | Neili & Steven | Rachel & Andrew | Lindsey & Justin | Mindy & Dustin | Davi & Jonathan | Erika & Phil | Kaylie & Matt | Mollie & Cliff | Laura & Chad | Jade & Justin | Salem & Chris | Sandra & Robert | Kourtney & Travis | Randall & Danny | Laura & Neil | Lilli & Cameron | Kristina & Nick | Jessica & Charlie | Norma & Jesus | Ellen & Jeromy | Melissa & Alex

Now…. as far are you 2010 brides go…. Erin, Jamie, Monica, Heather, Angela, Miranda, Christina (Come on… you know you wanna book. ;) Jean, Kristen, Brynne, Ashley, Brandy, Amanda, Adrienne, Megan, Heather, Jennifer, Julia, Jamie, & Kiffany, I can’t wait to work with you more and know that once you’ve been married for 40 something years and have grandkids running all around you, you’ll have some super fun photos to show them of back when “grandma” was young and cool. :)

Happy New Year! AlexM

P.S. Don’t worry, Britni, I still have you booked for 2011. :)

I’m guessing most of you read about The Mug Machine last week. But, for those of you just joining us here on the blog, here is a little recap. The Mug Machine is a little photo station I set up at your reception to photograph you and your guests. It’s not a push a button and say cheese on 3 booth. It IS a spot for your friends and family to relax, hang out, be entertained. I have a blast shooting these and everyone else has a blast joining in on the fun. Need proof? Here’s about 15 images of Mug Machine goodness.

(Don’t forget, if you add The Mug Machine to your package before the end of the month you’ll save $250.00.)

No rambling from me.  We are going straight to the image from Jamie & David’s wedding at The Villa di Felicita in Tyler, TX.

Brosang’s Flowers did all the arrangements for the day.

Her bouquet was great, but I was a huge huge fan of the centerpieces.
(They totally reminded me of the Kaminoans from Star Wars. Yes I’m a nerd.)

You may remember Jamie being my “Best Buy Bride“. Because of David’s great love for all things technology I thought it would be fun to work some of that into their ring shot.

Designs By D’Anne was there with their usual yummy and good looking cakes.

Jamie pretty much had a huge smile on the entire day. She was giddy.

I LOVE the look of anticipation on David’s face during their First Look.

Jamie loves the cold so we ran outside for a few shots.

These next two shots are part of a little trivia game.

Can anyone tell me where they were shot? Ladies, you may have toured the Villa Di Felicita, but I’m pretty sure Rhonda didn’t show you this room.

After the ceremony it was reception time and CMB Music made sure everyone had a good time.
