So one of the many many perks of being married is you get to inherit a lot of “stuff”.  One of the items that made it’s way into our house was a wood cutout of my wife when she was a high school cheerleader. Take a look.

Super awesome right?  Anyway, I have no idea where the wallet size photos that she got 15 years ago went.  Even the mighty 8×10 prints have gone missing.  The only thing that stood the test of time was this 12 inch tall cut out.  I can’t even begin to guess what her dad “overpaid” for this thing?  29.99?  49.99?  Did he drop 74.99 on this?  I don’t know and I don’t care, and the reality is he does not know or care either.  I’m just glad we have it.  It’s a tangible thing we can pick up and hold, our kids love to look at it and it’s one of our most valuable family heirlooms.  (That might be a stretch but you get the point.)

The same is true of your wedding album.  Today everyone Facebooks and tweets photos left and right and it may seem silly to get a big giant book that tells the story of your day, but the reality is hard drives crash, prints come and go, and how would you feel if all your awesome wedding photos were only on MySpace. :)  Yeah, exactly.  A nice wedding album will last a super long time.  It’s something you and your kids will eventually look at and something that will get passed down.  How awesome would it be to have a wedding album from your grandparents wedding?

The thing is, you don’t have to just take my word for it.  A few months ago I photographed another wedding photographer’s wedding.  Megan is super computer savvy and takes more photos in 1 week than you might in 3 months so “digital files” are something she knows how to deal with.  But she also knows that just having a “disc” is not enough.  In the end she wanted an album.  I’m super glad Megan & Mitch got one and it’s heading out the door to them today but before it left I thought I’d share a few images with you and let you take peek inside.  Enjoy.

It’s been awhile since I wrote about albums, so what better time than the present. :) Erin & Chris’ wedding was off the chi-zane, so I figured it would be a great one to share. (I’ll also post some images once the physical album comes in.)

Here is how the album process typically works. 2-3 weeks after your wedding, I’ll e-mail you a mock up of your album. (Like what you see below.) You’ll then go over it, and approve it, or swap a few images out. Then, once we have a final version, I send it to my album company and they start building your album. 4-6 weeks later you have your album in hand. :) That’s right… 2 months after your wedding, you’ll have an album. :) I’m sure you have talked to or heard from brides who close to a year from their wedding are still in the “album process.” My goal is to get you your album as quickly as possible. So, I’m sure most of you will remember Kim and Josh from their amazing wedding at the Villa di Felicita a few months ago. I had a bit of fun with her album before I shipped it to her and when she received it, she returned the favor and sent in pictures! Any other brides out there who think you can top Kim taking her album tailgating feel free to send in some photos and I’ll show them off as well.

(Let’s hope someone remembers to cover the album’s eyes before the Oklahoma State game tomorrow.)

Just got a in a new album and thought I’d try and share it with you. You may recognize Kim and Josh from thier wedding at the Villa di Felicita back in June. They were a great couple to work with and I thought I’d give Kim one final blaze of bridal blogging glory and feature her album on the site!

The pages are super thick and amazingly sturdy!

They also all lay flat so there is no big ugly crease keeping you from seeing your images!



Even though I’m posting some photos of the album, these really have to be held to be appreciated. The leather is soft and fluffy, sometimes my kids take naps on them before I ship them out to brides.

Kim and Josh are HUGE HUGE HUGE Aggies so I thought I would also take some extra special photos for them. :)

This may be the closest this album ever comes to a National Championship.

In all seriousness, you brides out there should really consider these albums when booking your packages. It’s so neat to have something tangible that you can hold, put on a coffee table or pass on to your kids later on down the road.
