Lots of fun things happened at Carrie & Aaron’s wedding. Things like a hanging wedding dress, a lego cake, flowers, sunsets, vows, Mugging, & dancing. Check back later this week for much more blog love!
Lindsey & Jonathan had a small wedding at Elmwood Gardens. It was such a great laid back day, I wish all weddings could be as fun and chill as theirs was.
So I don’t think I have ever started a wedding post with a shot of the bride without her makeup on…. but Lindsey’s expression when she saw her bouquet was too good not to show. La Tee Da Flowers ALWAYS gets this reaction from their brides. I love being in the room when Barbra walks in each wedding.
Jonathan’s father recently passed away so Lindsey surprised him with these cufflinks at their First Look.
Jonathan is a DEA special agent so these seemed fitting.
Lots and lots of First Look chatting, laughing, & smiling.
TC Makeup came down from Dallas and did a terrific job. (She also finished on time. A HUGE plus when considering a makeup artist.)
Designs by D’Anne did they cakes. She also just got a new website so get over there and take a look.
I love love love these fingerprint trees couples are having at their weddings.
All The Single Ladies….
Reason 385 you need to hire a PROFESSIONAL DJ for your wedding: About 5 seconds before the last dance was about to start Lindsey turned to Casey of CMBDJs and said, “can we change our last song to something fun and fast?” (They had chosen a slow song a few weeks ago during one of their consultations.)
He asked her if she had a favorite and she said “uh…..”
1/2 a second later Casey suggested a song and had the whole place jumpin’
Every photo you see below happened because Casey knew just what to do and was able to react and make it happen in about 10 seconds.
The lesson? Book a real DJ.
What song did he play? You’ll have to call him to find out. 903.724.3192 :)
I had such a great time with Brandi & Nathan. Here are a few of my favorites from their day. Check back Friday for Mug Machine goodness.
I showed up about 5 hours before the wedding and La Tee Da Flowers had already been there, made everything purdy. Brides, when picking a florist, make sure they arrive with plenty of time to spare. I’ve worked with some who show up 1 hour before the ceremony. (Not cool.)
First Look time.
Brandi’s son then crashed the First Look party. (In a good way.)
Brandi’s son then crashed. (In a good way.)
The reception went on FOR-EV-ER. (In a good way.)

I could not let the month end without a quick look back at my favorite photos from last January. Happy Anniversary to Erin & Chris, Jamie & David, and Monica & Jofie. You guys were such a great way to start off last year and I’m proud of you for making it through your 1st year. [It gets easier. ;)] On to the images.
Also celebrating it’s 1 year anniversary is The Mug Machine. She was but a twinkle in my eye last year and now my baby is all grown up and walking. :) Seriously though, a big big HUGE thank you to Erin & Chris. I called Erin about 1 week before her wedding and said something like this.
“Hey I have this big white thing and a box full of strange hats, can I bring it to your wedding and take pictures of people?” I can’t really show you what it would look like since I have never done it before. You trust me though right? :)”
Thankfully Erin & Chris’ cool meter was dialed to 11 and they were up for it. Here are a few of my favorites from their wedding.
Warning: Lots and lots of photos. Don’t start looking unless you want to end up jealous of Jessica, Rob, and their amazing little Elmwood Gardens wedding.
We’ll kick it off with a shot of her bouquet. Barbara & Thomas from La Tee Da Flowers outdid themselves on this one. I don’t know what any of these things are called, but together they look amazing. (I kept telling Barbara that I was going to eat the “little tomatoes”
Jess surprised Rob with these cufflinks. She had me print tiny photos of him and his father who has passed away. When he saw them for the first time it was a pretty intense moment.
Some First Look magic.
Some First Look tears.
Jessica got her dress from Weddings AtoZ Bridal Boutique. They are located in Tyler and some of the nicest dress people I know.
The cake was done by Crumbs & Crayons and the decorations by La Tee Da Flowers.
Rob likes pirates.
CMB DJs was there and Casey kept everyone on the dance floor.
If you look near the back of the group you’ll also see my friend and videographer Jeff Heimer. I LOVE working with great videographers at weddings. I’ve said it a million times, but I’ll say it again. Get your wedding filmed by a professional.
I adore this shot. It’s one of my favorite moments at weddings. Right before they run out for their get-away is a time that couples connect again and have one last “moment” before the wedding ends.
Thank you two for your trust and excitement about having me photograph your wedding.
You were a blast to shoot and I still have hundreds of photos to show you. :)
(I’ve already seen them and they are pretty good.)
Check back Friday for some Mug Machine goodness.
